Meet our Marketing Coordinator at Marketigation

Ellysse joined the Marketigation team in November 2020 as Marketing Coordinator. Her experience lies in digital and social media marketing, with an expanding interest in creative media.

Ellysse grew up in Tully, a small town in Far North Queensland and moved to Townsville in 2016 to further her education at university. She first discovered her passion for digital marketing while volunteering during her studies. Ellysse graduated from James Cook University with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Management and Communication Design. During her final year of university, she was presented with the Futurus Marketing Tech Excellence Award for 2019.

Ellysse has spent the last 5 years developing her skills within the marketing and event industries. While studying her degree in business, she actively used her time to volunteer and gain work experience in the field. In 2018, Ellysse travelled to Spain to complete a Digital Marketing and Social Media Internship, with a non-for-profit news agency. She had the opportunity to network and learn from a variety of expert mentors who have taught her so much about the industry. She was able to attend interactive social media and digital marketing workshops where she learned from editors at Vogue magazine, photographers from Getty Images, as well as Microsoft’s Xbox Social Media Manager, just to name a few. The following year, Ellysse was then welcomed back to complete a Journalism, Photography and Videography internship in Cuba.

The Journey to Being Marketing Coordinator at Marketigation

After graduating last year, during the midst of the Covid-19 outbreak, Ellysse struggled to find full-time employment. With an eagerness to begin her career, she took the leap and began freelancing as a Digital Marketing Consultant for a number of local businesses, whilst also exploring opportunities to grow her career. She started attending networking events including the Townsville Chamber’s coffee morning, where she was able to connect with other like-minded individuals and also where she met Hanna. Ellysse and Hanna got talking and to both of their surprise, Ellysse was looking for a marketing position and Hanna was looking to hire!

Ellysse’s passion lies with digital marketing and loves all of the challenges and opportunities that arise within this fast-paced industry. She says, “there is no better feeling than helping businesses prosper.”

Since the company’s launch in 2018, Marketigation has been highly successful and is currently experiencing steep growth. One of the many things that she enjoys most about working in digital marketing, is the diverse nature of the job and that no two days are the same. When Ellysse joined the Marketigation team as Marketing Coordinator, she knew she had made the right career move.
