The journey to being Marketing Assistant at Marketigation

Arpita grew up in India, and completed her MBA in Marketing there. She started as an internet marketing executive but now wears many hats. Arpita has worked as a website administrator, social media assistant, digital marketing coordinator, website specialist and content marketer.

She moved to Townsville in 2014 after marriage. Thereafter, she moved to Sydney in 2016 and was working with a prestigious organisation as a Web Administrator, where she learnt the nuances of Australian digital marketing space. Her heart is in Townsville, so moved back again in 2019, right before COVID 19 outbreak – I feel incredibly lucky to be back!

After moving to Townsville, she struggled to find a full-time job in digital marketing, and hence, started to do freelancing work for her previous organisation in Sydney to stay engaged. However, she felt a disconnect and lack of career progression and started exploring opportunities to grow her career. She noticed a job posted by Marketigation on Facebook and thought to apply for the marketing assistant position. The role at Marketigation was particularly appealing because of the opportunity to get back in digital marketing space, while learning new things. She feels glad to be a part of the Marketigation team.

Outside of work, you can find her at the beach, on a hike, cooking, watching Netflix or playing in the park with her 5-year-old son.

She says “power-of-the-pack, the combined work of women is powerful, you will have a wonderful team experience with talented women here at Marketigation, and together we will create something extraordinary”.

Our top 5 tips and tricks to boost up your conversion rate

Attracting website traffic is only half the battle won. For a sustainable growth of business in the long term, conversion rate optimization is essential. To put it simply, it helps in getting more out of your existing users and visitors. This includes taking a desired action by the user or visitor at the website such as signing up, purchasing a product or service, etc. As a result, it helps in optimisation of company resources and revenue generation.

Here are some simple and easy tips to implement conversion rate optimisation that will help boost your sales:

1. Simplify the user experience – sometime less is more

Your Home page should feel inviting and your users should find it easy to navigate your website. When it comes to designing an effective and inviting home page, simplicity is the key. It is a great opportunity to connect with the user, create anticipation and drive them towards your products. It only takes few seconds for customers to form a first impression, so make the most out of it by keeping it simple, professional and use clear messaging and call to action.

You might consider making the following items easily accessible for users: links to products, relevant reviews of the products or services, enticing offers and discounts, quality content describing the company motto, products or services being offered and what it intends to deliver to its customers.

2. Experiment with the images

While posting any content on social media or blog, experiment with your image selection and see which works best. Don’t be afraid of trying new images and themes, you will be amazed with the results. Appealing images would attract website traffic – after all, appearance rules the world!

3. Call to action

Call to action (CTA) simply means asking customers to do the desired action. It plays a significant role in getting more leads. Your call to action should be simple, easy to understand and follow. Avoid overwhelming customers with unnecessary images, banners and text. Customers are becoming accustomed to ignoring banner-like information on websites. So, you might consider creating text-based CTAs when posting a Blog.

4. Show urgency

Creating urgency can significantly increase your conversion rates. You will be surprised to see results of just changing one single word to your CTA. Simple and easy things like using “Book Now” vs “Book Today”, shows urgency and would help in getting more sales.

5. Leveraging retarget to re-engage website visitors

More often than not, a lot of users would browse through a website and exit without taking the desired action. By leverage retargeting on Facebook and other social media platforms, you can re-engage them. This works by tracking visitors to your website and providing them online ads as they visit other sites around the web. This is especially impactful when you retarget users who visited your high converting pages on website. Basic marketing rules always apply — you need well-crafted copy, appealing graphics and a compelling offer for retargeting to work.
